Putting together a jug of deliciously rejuvenating ice tea is quite a simple affair. An easy rule of thumb to keep in mind when coming up with healthy iced tea recipes is fruit + herb + tea. Here are a few three-ingredient healthy iced tea recipe ideas to inspire you.

The simplest ice tea recipe

This recipe is very refreshing and super simple to make. Just the opposite of a long island iced tea recipe. Which does not actually contain a drop of tea, just by the way!

  • Place three or four black tea bags in a heat-safe jug.
  • Pour eight cups of boiling water over the tea bags and leave them to steep for seven to eight minutes.
  • Add four to six lemon slices and a quarter cup of honey. Stir to dissolve the honey.
  • To cool, place the jug in the refrigerator for two hours or overnight.
  • Remove the tea bags before serving.
  • Add a few cups of ice to the jug.

If you prefer a milder tea flavor, remove the tea bags after one hour instead of leaving them to brew overnight.

Coconut lime iced tea

Coconut water is ideal for hydrating and contains many healthy nutrients. It may help prevent kidney stones, support heart health, and stabilize blood sugar levels in diabetics. Coconut water is naturally sweet, which makes it ideal for making iced tea. For this tropically-inspired recipe, simply steep green tea bags in coconut water overnight. Remove the tea bags and basil leaves (if they have discolored) from the tea. Add a few blocks of ice, and your strawberry and basil ice tea is ready to serve.

Blackberry and mint iced tea

Combine half a cup of fresh blackberries, six mint leaves, two bags of green tea, and three cups of hot water in a mason jar. Allow it to chill in the refrigerator for three to four hours before drinking.

Peach and ginger iced tea
